Valentines

Valentines Day.. I big day in the calendar of couples around the world, yet in the almost three years me and Jayne have been together we have managed to either not celebrate it or not be around to celebrate with each other. So this year would be our first Valentines together, and the first in which we would exchange gifts. Now although I did give Jayne a gift I’m going to leave that for her to do a post about, instead I will be posting about the one that she gave me, only!

Now throughout our relationship music has been a major factor, it was one of the main commonalities that we had when we first met. So when it came down to making me a gift, Jayne landed on a mix tape! (Well cd but tape makes it sound cooler) of songs from times in our relationship and also just from bands that we have both really liked!

This came with a really amazing handmade cd foldout that had little comments that came along with all of the songs!

Personally I thought it was an awesome gift and I hope she has nice things to say about what I gave her!

Peace

House of Holland

When i saw House of Holand's Fall collection, i couldn't help but be reminded of a fashion editorial i found somewhere and adored for the better half of last year.

House of Holland

Valley Girl Editorial.

I loved House of Holland's collection, i thought the use of the bandanna pattern on the clothes was great, tied in with the head wear and sometimes the jewelery!

That's all

Henrik Vibskov

So late last year I found a jacket that I really, really loved. I think it may have featured on the blog as it was also when I found the infamous orange pants.. Anyway! The designer of this wonderful jacket was a man named Henrik Vibskov. After being unsuccessful in attaining the jacket I decided to keep my eye out for more of this designer in the future. And just a few days ago his latest season appeared on Good as Gold’s online store for pre-order. I loved it. It’s a great mix of formality and fun, with the added bonus (in my mind) of drop crotch pants featuring in the collection. This combined with nice clean shirts, and fun and oversized crews means that Henrik is slowly becoming my favourite fashion designer. Just behind Cheap Monday but that is basically based on the large difference in price. Anyway I have as usual left some pictures for you to look at and dream of. Hope you like them!

Peace

Flowerbomb.

Today my nostrils were blown away. Or should I say, blown apart? And by what? Oh just Viktor & Rolf, Flowerbomb. My lovely friend Nikki had mentioned it, and described the scent to me, but until today, I did not know the gloriousness of the perfume. After one spray, I was blown away. It is flowers living happliy in a wonderful grenade shaped bottle. I could dersicbe it in “perfume” terms, but I don’t even know what half of the stuff smells like, so just trust me, its delicious.
I told my mum about it and she asked, “who are viktor and rolf when they’re at home?” I unfortunately did not know, hello google. They are Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, an Amsterdam fashion house. little did I know they were the creaters of these wonderful outfits!
they caught mhy eye last year, when everyone was cutting corners withing their fahsion houses because of the recession, Viktor & Rolf decided to cut tulle gowns.

P.A.M

for those who go to Good as Gold frequently, you may have noticed a certain PAM jacket that has been there for over a year or so. its big red, and over-priced. i think it started at $659 and is now $329. But i totally found it in a fashion spread in an old Grazia! its the sort of jacket i would buy if i saw it at an op shop for twenty dollars.

anyway, that was just an interesting discovery, its really only interesting because for a long time anytime Jack and I went into good as gold, the jacket would be there and then it started to get discounted gradually until it reached half price!

Thats all.
Jayne!

cheap monday

Cheap Monday is a Swedish clothing label that was founded by Örjan Andersson and Adam Friberg in 2000. It started off as a second hand store that was only open on certain days throughout the week. From there it became for it’s jeans and then more as it expanded around the world. I’ve always been a huge Cheap Monday fan, I love there logo and their clothing designs are always simple but really well done, and never stupidly expensive. Their winter range has just appeared on the Good as Gold and in my view, Good as Gold have done it again. There are some really nice jeans/pants and some really simple but cool t-shirts. So I’ve included some pictures and a link bellow to the store! I hope you like them as much as I have!

Peace

Ra-Ra- Oh Lala Ro-ma Ro-mama

The editors note of the feb 22 grazia talks about Lady Gaga’s development. She says that when Lady Gaga sat down for an interview in September 2008 she didn’t take off her sunglasses, and she was wearing home sewn clothing. Back in 2008 I thought she was a huge star in “just dance”, little did I know that she made, by hand, her lady gaga persona into what it is today. Even the renowned lightning bolt that spread across her eye and down her cheek was hand done, and she did it flawlessly. In 2008 she said “Gaga is my masterpiece. It’s been my most creative journey”. She has barely just begun.
Being young I’m always wondering what moments, films, music, and people, we will remember and carry with us as defining moments of our generation. I get the feeling that Lady Gaga will be one of those people.

Ps, she has a peace sign tattoo on her wrist. I think thats so cool!

back on track?

Back on track? For now it's looking like I have succeeded in gaining a fun little (kind of) Canon 1000D - and for cheap and with a swell lens thanks to trademe!

But I'm hoping that this post isn't too premature.. But I'm just so excited that I had to at least tell someone (cyberspace). So hopefully my face each day will go ahead as planned!

Keep your fingers crossed!

camera enthusiasts I need your help

Is this camera worth my money? My friend who is a photographer has pointed me towards it, but I am still not sold on Nikon.. Canon seems much nicer..

the enchanted and mythical wonder

Daisy Lowe's 21st birthday. I stumbled upon some photos of it, it blew my mind. Daisy and her Mum Pearl "sat down with red bull" to talk about daisy's dream 21st, and what do you know? it came true. guests dressed as elves, tree nymphs, anything they could find, the costumes look incredible, it all looks so decadent.
ps sorry, this layout always makes my text go weird when photos are there.

the end

After much preparation and hype for the blog I was hoping to start on my eighteenth birthday, it’s looking like it’s going to come screeching to a halt. I had been hoping to gain a much needed camera (for the running of the blog) for my birthday. But after some conversations with the parents it’s looking like we have very different views on the topic and therefore will not amount to anything. So for now it looks like my face each day has come to an end before it has even begun.

Peace
