cold day

i'm sitting outside my history lecture with an hour until it starts because i came early just to have a wee chat with jayne and a morning coffee.

and i would like to inform all of you

it's fucking freezing

wellington has decided that it is truely winter, and it's even cold in doors because of the lack of heating.

kind of love it (i got really sick of summer) but at the same time i would prefer it not to rain so much. being soaked on arrival to university isn't really ideal.

so wellington, stay cold but stop raining. thanks

i like negatives

as you know (probably) jayne gifted me a holga camera for my birthday. now not only does this camera take some pretty rad photos, the negatives that come with it are something to be admired. the size is and you can clearly see the picture when they've got even a little bit of light behind them. so i'm not someone who really reprints photos so the negatives were just gaining dust in my room, so i decided to do something with them.

i taped them up to my bedroom window, which gets a fair amount of light through it. now every day i can see all my pictures in all their inverted goodness.

enjoy

i want one

a tattoo that is.. i look at yvan rodic's (facehunter) visual diary religiously and he takes heaps of photos of people's tattoos in his travels, so i started to collect the ones that i like and store them away for a rainy day, i really like the idea of simple text ones. here are a few of my favourites

music update?

so i think a while i put some music up for you all to listen to so you could have a taste of what me and jayne listen to! and now i feel it has been a sufficient enough length of time for me to again give you an update on what's happening inside my many pairs of headphones (i think i own a few too many, might post about it later). anyway! music!

i can't really remember what i put up last time.. but for now we shall start with; the drums, florence and the machine, electrelane, and yeasayer.. oh and akron family!
the drums and florence and the machine are kind of similar, and electrelane is nice and slow pretty mellow but really good, and yeasayer are.. yeasayer and akron family's kind of similar..

videos!

the drums - let's go surfing

florence and the machine - dog days are over

electrelane - saturday (not official video)

yeasayer - ambling alp

akron family - river

check them all out, they're all so good.. (anyone noticed the font change, like heaps)

Denim on denim

I did not believe denim on denim could look good.. until now. I think I shall have to make an exception.

maybe its because i want her necklace and glasses? regardless, this is the one exception to the rule in my opinion.
What do you think?

Bambi

There's a new model gracing all the site i read, "Bambi" (no joke, she actually changed her name to that)and she has some really cool eyebrows, bushy and strong, and they suit her.

But my point is not to rave about her unique look, but its this: my Darling Nikki has always had an issue with her eyebrows, everyone else on the other hand has said they are gorgeous and strong and suit her enormously. and this is hopefully to show you (nikki i know you're like our main reader) that your eyebrows make you, you. and i think you are cute as a button, you could re-name yourself kitten. or puppy, cos i know you prefer dogs.

this could be explained as my eyebrow - envy. as jack said the other day "you have no eyebrows".

light knots

last year jayne gave me, for my birthday, what can only be described as a rope of light. it was to hang around my room in place of fairy lights that she couldn't find because of the season, and that's where it stayed for just over a year. but recently i have begun to tidy up my room, make it seem a bit more my age, by ripping down all my posters and just make it look a bit less busy. so while doing this i decided to move the rope and construct myself a new bed-side light of sorts. the light is amazingly bright so by making it into one big knot i have been able to light the area next to my bed easily and pretty much the rest of my room!

i like the look of it, and i use it way more now, when it was hanging around the room i hardly ever turned it on because i had really no need to! but now it's on every night.

here are some pictures of my new light source, hope you like it

Dejavu

This happens to me allll the time. I get it in lectures even. No I'm actually quite positive I dreamt the scenario I lived on Monday.
I got that feeling with this photo.
I was not sure if I had posted it before, not that its important, but I didn't want to be re-hashing photos, especially when they're as banal as this one.
The photo is evidence of what happens when Jack and I study together.

Jack and I have big essays to get done in the next week. BOO.

Peace.

Three years on..

and Jack has made me silly as can be. Whenever I find a photo like this, without the false posing or silly faces, I keep it and cherish it. I think there's only a hand-full. 'cos lets face it, silly faces rule.

thanks for 3 fun years of silliness, Jacky.

i like to skateboard

i've been a very big board - sport person throughout my life, my dad brought me up to love surfing and then skateboarding and snowboarding kind of just fell into place. i haven't been properly skateboarding for about three years now, just using my old deck for transport around wellington. but during the holidays i decided to try do it a bit more and make the most of the university free nights and days. now the bard that i had was already around four or five years old, severely damaged and i just found out, very small compared to most. so with money coming in from my two new jobs i decided to buy a new deck! after a long talk with the gentleman from cheapskates and about an hour spent jumping on and off various different decks i decided on a stereo sound agency skateboard (a brand that is owned by actor, skater, weactivist and all around awesome person jason lee) as it was very cheap, a pro deck (team rider danny supa) and felt pretty sweet!

so here are pictures of my brand new deck with everything still looking perfect, something that i doubt will be the case after a few days down at the skate park. but that will make me look cool. unless i break it.. then i'll look like a dick.
