Summer..

Jack's Bach had baby animals on both sides, on the left a brave young warrior kitten, and on the other a whole lot of adorable sleepy and curious puppies!

You are what you are.

Despite the mockery of "ginga's" and "ranga's", I adore orangey-red hair. It's so rich and firey, and I can give no further explanation about why i love it, I just do.

this last photo isn't really relevant.. its of Florence from Florence and the Machine.. and she's just awesome. if you haven't listened to them: do. plus she's performing in laneways in Auckland soon, I so wish i could go.

Shirts

So this is a bit of a quick update – more of a call for help!

Now I have passed the age of school etc. I am attempting to make myself look a bit older than I normally do. This means attempting to cast off my normal outfit of t shirts and jeans and wearing more ‘sophisticated’ things like.. Shirts! So I am on the hunt for cheap, if not second hand, nice, fairly slim pastel coloured shirts!

So if anyone in Wellington has any idea where I can find such a thing – or maybe even sale me some – then contact me! As I would love to hear from you!

Peace

One or the other

So after getting into film cameras over the past few months I have really fallen in love with photography, I’ve always really appreciated it as an art form but now I’m seeing it as something that I could really get into in the coming years. But with my two main film cameras I have started kissing all the money I have goodbye because of developing all the film I use. So I have decided to start looking into getting a fairly decent digital camera so it can just be a one off payment and then maybe more but only for lenses etc. But I’m not sure which way I want to go. I’ve always really liked the big SLRs like a Canon EOS but at the same time I’m not sure if I want such a big thing that I’ll have to carry around with me. So I’ve narrowed it down to two types/models of camera. One is the entry level Canon EOS 1000D which is a nice simple/fairly good SLR. The other, Canon again, is the Canon Powershot G10 (both Canon I know but I will look further with brands at a later date just using their models as a jumping off point) this camera is still rather large (I don’t want to go too small) but has a really good lens, megapixel and some nice settings. Pictures of both bellow. So basically this is a post to anyone reading that may know a bit more about/have more experience in cameras than me. Is it worth it to lose out on interchangeable lenses and go for the cheaper and smaller? Or in the future will that comeback to bite you? Any kind of opinion would be helpful (doesn’t even have to be from a person of my perspective) I just want a bit more information on this kind of thing. So I hope someone can give me an opinion!

This is the 1000D and this is the G11*

Watching

I've always liked watches. As a little kid I had one of those 'cool' Ripcurl ones and it made me think I was the 'man', not only could I tell the time but I had something that all the other boys could jealous of aha if only for a second. But after about two years of having it, it ran out of batteries and I never got around to replacing them or investing a in a new one, so the watch went on hiatus for a little while. After borrowing my dads and looking around today I finally decided to buy (with a little help from a $50.00 Good as Gold Voucher from my lovely Grandparents) one that was reasonably cheap and had the look that I was going for, plus for just for Jayne it's digital so if she ever borrows it she won't have any trouble when trying to figure out of it's 12.00 o'clock or 6.00 o'clock. So without further ado, here's a few pictures! Hope you like it! Tell me what you think. Hope everyones holidays were good, mine were fairly fantastic apart from the small hitch of New Years in the Emergency room! Hope alls well.

The Prayer

So the other night I went to an eighteenth birthday party for a friend and her friend who had turned eighteen a few months back but for some reason had not had a party (at least I think that's what the case was). I went with Jayne and caught up with a lot of friends which I haven't seen in ages because of work, school and me just being plain lazy (sorry!). While we were there though a song that I haven't heard in ages came on, that song was 'the prayer' by Bloc Party. When I first heard these guys I loved them and t just got better from there but lately I haven't really been listening to them because of all the new music I keep getting, but this song always really stood out for me because of the fantastic video clip it has. Basically it's the band being fairly mellow in this pub/club type of place, the camera follows the lead singer and some of the band around, but every so often what seems to be like litle embers are dropped onto the film of the video and it burns away to the saw image. But as it burns away you get both parts of the frame, one burnt the other not, and this causes like a really cool distorted kind of effect. It's one of my favourite videos and I'll leave a clip at the bottom or something, anyways, enjoy!
