all throughout summer i was wishing to the world that someone would bring out some simple staple clothing with nice neutral or pastel colouring at a reasonable price and dr denim listened.

their latest collection is full of nice simple pants, shirts, cardigans and jackets. nothing that would make you stand out in a crowd, but stuff that makes you look like you have some sort of taste in clothing - very useful.

so if you like fashion, international travel, and photography look no further than yvan rodic, or facehunter. starting his blog facehunter in 2006 yvan rodic has been photographing people on the street who he believe to have good fashion sense, he has an amazing eye for good style as well.

he's also started a visual diary of his travels, including some of the people he puts on facehunter, and other interesting photos from around the world.

so if you've made your way through that jumble of words and attempted sentences and are still looking for a point to this post, the point is this. check him out. the photos are rad and the people, fashion and countries are amazing. i've been following the blog for a year and a bit now, and i'm still loving every photo that goes up.

the berrics

now i have always been a bit of a skateboarding wanabe. always good enough to be able to do the simple things but never motivated to go any further than that. now that i'm trying to go past that point i've been getting into the skateboarding culture a bit more.

one thing i found whilst falling in love with skateboarding was the berrics this is a skatepark, company, and something.. all created by proffesional skateboarders steve berra and eric koston (berrics.. get it..) anyway it's freaking rad. it's a massive skate community where they just live skateboarding.

videos are posted almost every day and they run competitions etc. where they get proffesional skateboarders to compete. battle at the berrics is a game of s.k.a.t.e competition running right now.

cuba street carnival please don't leave us

cuba street carnival is an event that happens in wellington every two or so years and is where me and jayne met for the first time. last year i did my 7th form design project on it and this meant that i wandered around the whole day taking photos of whatever and whoever because it would be the only time i'd be able to get photos etc. for my project.
next year in 2011 the amazing event was set to occur in february as it always had. but because of the wellington city council's reluctance to contribute more money than it has in the past years and the organizers refusal to move it to coincide with the rugby world cup -  a move that the council claims they did not suggest but many believe it may have contributed to the lack of increase in funds - it looks like the event will not go ahead.

i feel that if this was to happen - and it's looking very likely - that wellington will lose one of the main events in its cultural calendar and that would be horrible. it's an event that really anyone of any age can enjoy and it brings the whole of wellington together to enjoy it. so for the sake of wellington i really really really hope we will be seeing some form of the carnival next years.

Just some images from around. I adore this washed out look, add flowers and a pretty girl, and I can't ignore it. Probably especially now during winter, though I am realy liking the cold weather.
I thought i would just post before i go into round two of study hibernation. Lucky Jack has finished his exams! jealous. another week or two to go for me. Regardless of the fact it feels unnatural to be studying in June.
I hate this time of year, too many birthdays! But i also really love everyone who has a birthday, five of my favourite people! Though i now have money to buy good presents, so thats on the upside. I do enjoy buying gifts.
Right now, GirlTalk came on and "whoop badass" starting looping. Oh, Ipod.
