Christmas
I had a truely wonderful Christmas. It was three days of wonderful-ness. I just wish that I hadn't worked both christmas eve and Boxing day. It would have been more fun, but hey it's money.
On Christmas eve: Takeaways movies and desserts at Park Place. (Peppermint Mouse (oh yes))
Christmas day: Pancake Breakfast made by me, late lunch which was delicious (mum found a mini ham for us! i love glazed ham, then a dessert, followed by a very fun game of Trivial Pursuits, which Mum and I totally won!
Boxing Day: Bbq with the extended family, I got to see cousins who i adore and cousins that i barely see, but are soso cute! Followed by another insane game of Trivial Pursuits, this time my sisters won!
It was so wonderful, I got an Ipod (finally, hello 32 gigs!), and lots of other goodies. I loved spending time with my family, they are truly some of my favourite people.

Chris Cringle
After having a bad day at work, suffering the brunt of mad Christmas consumers, and trying to maintain an ever depleting Christmas cheer, I arrive home to a Christmas-ified home.
We're getting our REAL Christmas tree late this year, so I don't feel at all christmas-y. And this year I have been stuck in a mall, selling jewelery, where the Christmas-spirit is all a about how much money the retailers can suck out of the customers (turns out quite a bit, in fact). But every so often someone comes along whose appreciation and graciousness reminds of the real Christmas spirit. And also today there was a barber shop quartet singing carols, thats just awesome. Unfortunately those moments aren't as often as I would like.

I love you mummy. You are the mummy who saved my first Christmas of adulthood.
Photo is of our tree last year. Always a haphazard smattering of decorations, but perfect in every way. My sisters and I will be at work tomorrow, and I can not wait.

It's not what you think.
Bon Jovi played in Wellington this weekend. I do not like Bon Jovi.
the ONLY reason i am posting this song is because it was one of the reasons I met Jack.
Thanks Bon Jovi.
Peace
Ps - Christmas is around the corner! The Christmas carols are entering my ears and the smell of peppermint and pine trees are getting closer

fomo
fomo - "fear of missing out"
okay maybe i'm not up with all the happenings etc. so new slang might go right by me or maybe i'm just not very good at listening but this is the first time i've ever heard of this.. i saw it on a skate video where an amazing skater called brian anderson (look him up) talked about "know fomo" i don't know why he used know.. instead of know.. but anyways i think it's a pretty cool idea.. like you always have that fear you might be missing out if you don't go out one night or something like that, so this living with out that fear - no fomo.
i thought it was pretty cool idea!
anyway this is brian anderson, pretty cool dude with some pretty gnarly tattoos;
photos taken from caught in the crossfire, and transworld skating (still)

short sleeves?
so i recently acquired an old short sleeved shirt from a family friend. up till this point in my life i have always hated them, i can't explain it, it may have been because everyone who used to where them were normally douche bags.. but some other reasons as well. but this year i've become more and more fond of them, they're slowly becoming more popular around wellington, and they also have been pretty big in the skating industry for just under a year now. right now i'm on the look out for a cheap blue one because i reckon the look pretty rad (although extremely common) any-who if you've got opinions on them or know a good brand/place to find them let me know!
the first picture is of cory kennedy, taken from the good not great website and then the other two are taken from the RVCA collection (cory kennedy's sponsor).
let me know what you think,
peace

nick mullins
okay a while ago i was looking through the videos on the berrics and came across this insane skater by the name of nick mullins, after watching his video i keep looking through the others on the site and found that he wasn't yet another professional skater, but an amateur skater who was in a coma with a staph infection, and had been given a 1% chance of getting throughout. the berrics made many video updates etc. about nick and where he was at until he finally pulled through, he came out with the loss of sight out of one eye and damage to his other which is now being repaired. he's back skating and still as amazing as ever, i've put some of the videos down the bottom of this post, make sure you watch the first it has amazing editing, music, and above all, skating.
'nick mullins day' song by metric - help i'm alive
interview with nick mullin
pretty crazy story, also note the song 'help i'm alive' and he was in a coma.. hah.. okay click the videos if you want to watch them on YouTube instead of the website.

more skateboard graphics
so i'm pretty sure every child in the history of the world has loved where the wild things are.. the movie came out a while back and it was directed by spike jonze who just so happens to be the co-owner of the very successful skateboard company, girl skateboards.
so for the release of the movie girl did a collaboration with some of its best skaters and came up with these sweet skateboard graphics....
riders who got the these graphics are.. rick mccrank, rick howard, brandon biebel, mike carroll, eric koston, guy mariano, and jeron wilson.
