Nerd Inspiration

Halloween came and went and we went as Nerds. NOT Hillbillies.

The inspiration for the idea via: National Geogrpahic

In a time where Halloween is an opportunity for ones slut to come out, we opted for the exact opposite. for ones nerdom to come out.

Ps my mum though i looked like annie-mae from Beverly hillbillies. NOT HILLBILLIES

Shredded Bliss?

Around April, my Darling sister sent me a link with a DIY project of a shredded tee-shirt, i thought the idea was so cool, that i did it;it took several nights of repetitive shredding, but eventually i did the whole back of it.
i never really got around to wearing it or liking it because it didn't seem right. maybe it was a bad quality tee-shirt that i used, because the shreds became strange, however! upon reflection and after seeing several examples of them throughout the web, i have now decided i shall give it ago... maybe...

what do you think? (all those readers out there) these are some of the images inspiring me to try it out

this was my attempt.. its kind of too boofy

Photos from www.bythegirl.com, missatlaplaya.blogspot.com, childhoodflames.blogspot.com

all the above turned out like beautiful cobwebs of thread, mine looks ridiculous compared to the above.

Three Things

As you may have guessed by the title this post will be about.. Wait for it.. Three Things!
First! For the past year or so I have watched the drop crotch pant/trackpant make its way everywhere in men's fashion. And I had being looking into acquiring some of these wonderful pants for myself.. So after looking around on the net and the small amount of good men's clothing stores in Wellington, I found the pants that I had been looking for! Material Boy Tubby Tigas. But.. They are expensive.. Good as Gold expensive.. so for now all I can do is.. Try them on in the shop!

What do you think?

And now on to two.. I have discovered one of the most amazing bands that I have ever heard in my life.. I think that everyone in the world should experience them sometime in their life. The band is the National, and their album the Boxer. It's amazing, I must have listened to it at least 30 times over in the past week and I am still nowhere near being sick of it..

This is the first song on the album and one of my favourites and the song that really got me hooked, check it out:

Fake Empire - The National

The video isn't the official one which is kind of lame.. But amazing song..

And number three!

I have two new cameras! I bought I tiny Palmat Automatic Film Camera and the Good Shit Sale in Wellington about month ago, and upon showing it to a family friend who was also interested in cameras I was given another! A Ricoh XR-P.
I haven't used film cameras that much and I really wanted to have a go at it because it always seemed way 'cooler' so this is my chance!

Palmat Automatic

And Ricoh XR-P

And that's the end! Hope you liked my three things for the week! Oh and to everyone reading this out in cyberspace tell your friends! Get us followers! It looks lame only having three! Peace

These are the days of your life

Of all times i really shouldn't be posting this. But with the ending of my high school life, and exams, i'm feeling nostalgic. Plus i just love these photos. or poloroids! my darling sister Crab-hands introduced me to the poloroid application for the computer.
i love the look of them. i can't help it! and with all this nostalgia floating around in my head, the look adn style of the "faux-poloroids" seems to hit the spot. so why not!

i heart you Poloroid.

Is there anybody out there?

Sitting at my desk tapping away on my little white macbook I think to myself I have really been neglecting this blog. But is there anybody that really reads it? Other than some family and the occasional friend? I'd really like to know so if there is someone that i don't know out there or whatever, leave a comment below! Say hi! Tell me I suck, whatever, I think it'd be interesting to find out!

Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Over the past few years I've been building up my music collection through the help of my friends recommending stuff or lending me cds etc. Most of them have fairly different music tastes so I've ended up with a big array of music on my iPod (which has become very dear to my heart). Recently I got my friend to put some of his music on my iPod and I got some really good stuff.

Some of the bands included; Panda Bear, Handsome Furs, The Dodos, Stuck in the Sound, Grizzly Bear and Electrlane. They're all really good bands, if you're into nice soft indyish music. I would highly recommend all of them!

Panda Bear

Handsome Furs

The Dodos

Hope you enjoy them!

Oh and by the way.. I've been listening to them with my new WeSC Headphones.. Tell me what you think

Study Can Be Harmful

Exams are painful. Even worse when you know they're PRACTICE ones, ones that have no credits attached ie:worthless. its very hard to motivate yourself to study for PRACTICE exams. so i explored "picassa" a photo editting thing.. just because.

i totally wore that crazy red scarf to school for "slipper and scarf day" in our Mid-Winter festical (which i totally ran!) sweet.
anyway exams are dull, almost over though which is good. Next up is Jacks Ball, for which i have designed and am planning to make an ORANGE DRESS. jack totally HATES orange, it'll be great! And after that I am off to Auckland for my classes Fashion Trip. We're doing so much, we even got free tickets to Cybelles show! I am so excited. Meadowlarks Jewellary will be in this show, a personal favourtite of my sisters. and i heard that when the killers were in NZ, Meadowlark gave Allison Mosshart a few of their pieces and she was totally wearing them in a magazine article about the dead weathers. thats just a fun fact. OOH and my sister also told me that Cybele custom made and designer a wedding dress for the designer behind meadowlark, and it was oh so very cute.
to add more, we got the tickets for Cybelles show through a frienda at my school whose aunt is also the sewer for Cybelle, her "machinest". bizarrely small world huh?
so it'll be a whole lot of fun, we also will be meeting the designer behind the madame hawke part of Ruby, whose clothing is so cool. two girls wore their dresses to my ball and i was in all honestly green envy. my home made dress looked like poo next to them!

sorry this is a bit boring. but to be fair, who the hell reads this? no one reads it. just as well huh? !

sometimes..

i walk past this stream nearly everyday on my way to school. i always see awesome cloud formations and sky reflections in it.. and on the first day of spring i decided i would actually take a picture!

i have just been too busy lately. its been a whole woosh of business really.
but more, or possibly nothing, about that later!

this is a belt i found in our Fashion Class Room.. i love it! My mum thought it was her old belt buckle. i plan on making it into a necklace!

the light this morning was lovely.. it was reflecting in the mirror in a really cool way that i couldn't capture on camera.. dam my amateurishness.

this outfit feels like a ballerina outfit.. the wrap cardigan makes the grey tee shirt poof out like a little ballet skirt. its very fun to wear!

mixing the photos up.

Jacks on his Nationals tournament right now, WISH HIM LUCK!!
